I’ve been thinking about the last thing I wrote which was a while ago now.

I have always been leant on in local communities and the reasons have always been along the lines of ‘you’re a natural leader’ and ‘you know how to get things done’. I have taken a further step in saying no.

I have stopped paying the subscription on my doorbell which means it doesn’t record incidents it just lets me know what’s going on in real time. There are three other doorbells recording incidents in a very small area so the community doesn’t need any recordings I may have.

Shortly it will disappearing off my front door all together as I am going back to using an old fashioned door knocker – shaped like a fox head no less!

Technology is great but when people become over reliant on someone else’s it’s time to ditch it.
